Concussion

A concussion is an injury to the brain caused by the brain moving back and forth inside the skull, and is often due to a blow or bump to the head. Call your pediatrician if you suspect that your child has had a concussion so that he may be evaluated. If it is an emergency, call 911. Our office physicians and staff have been trained by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in the diagnosis and treatment of concussions and will assist you every step of the way if your child undergoes this type of head injury.
