Laboratory Studies

Laboratory tests are sometimes used as an adjunct to your doctor’s history and physical during well checks and sick visits.

We routinely check for anemia, high cholesterol, and urine as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

If a sore throat is a major complaint, we do a strep screen to check for strep infection.  The test takes about 10 minutes.  Other cultures such as stool, eye, sputum, ears, abscesses, etc., may be obtained when specific circumstances indicate.
